It was built in 1889 by Triantafyllos Aletra. It is a remarkable example of urban architecture and reflects the provincial neoclassical style that prevailed in Macedonia in the early 19th century.

Today, it is used as a cultural venue. On the ground floor, there is a lending library and an exhibition area hosting exhibitions by local associations as well as various artists. In the basement, visitors can find a collection of agricultural tools, while on the upper floor a traditional house of Afitos has been recreated. All museum exhibits (furniture, woven textiles, cooking utensils, and tools) are generous donations from the residents of the village.

Folklore Museum “Oikonomou Mansion”

The Folklore Museum of Kassandreia was established in 2003 and welcomes visitors on a journey into the local past. Its exhibits aim to present an image of life in Kassandreia during the previous century. On the upper floor of the building, a one-room traditional house has been recreated. The loom is the dominant exhibit, surrounded by woven textiles skillfully and lovingly made by the women of Kassandrino. In another area, visitors can see tools and objects used in various professions. The walls display a large collection of black-and-white photographs depicting places and everyday moments from life in Kassandra during the last century.

Folklore Museum of Polychrono

The Folklore Museum was founded in 2014 and is a creation of the Cultural Association of Polychrono. It is located behind the Church of Saint Athanasios, next to the community office. The museum’s purpose is to preserve the cultural and intellectual heritage of the area. It features an exhibition of agricultural tools, bread-making equipment and utensils, beekeeping items, and woodworking tools. There is also a section dedicated to weaving equipment, tools and items of everyday household use, as well as traditional costumes and garments. The museum includes photographic material of the village, historical documents, maps, banknotes, and photographs of archaeological finds from the area. It also has a small library with historical books, which is continuously enriched with new titles and editions.

Folklore Museums Explore the local folk tradition through objects, stories, and regional exhibits.Folklore museums offer an authentic glimpse into everyday life and the cultural heritage of the area.
